This applies to users who have not previously logged in to eLabFTW.
When logging in for the first time, new users can select their preferred team on the home page and submit a request to join it. The administrators of the selected team will then confirm your request.
As you are already a member of one or more teams, you can no longer see the list of existing teams and therefore cannot submit a request to join another one. A team admin will need to add you to the new team.
You can belong to as many teams as you like at the same time. Once you have joined two or more teams, you will be given the option to select your preferred team when you log in.
Please note that you can only choose which team to join when you log in for the first time. Team administrators are responsible for adding users who already have an account to further teams.
Yes, depending on the team, you can be either a regular user or team admin.
In the Admin panel, under the ‘Users’ tab, you can view users from your team and all other teams. You can change a user’s team assignment by double-clicking on their name, thus adding them to your team.

When logging in for the first time, new users can select their preferred team on the home page and request to join it. As a team admin, you can then approve or reject the request in the admin panel if the user does not belong to your working group or team. This ensures that your team always consists of members who actually belong to it.
In the Admin panel, you can search for users in your team under the ‘Users’ tab. Double-clicking on a name allows you to edit the user’s details and promote them to admin status.
