Online hands-on workshop · 30 November – 3 December 2026, 4 days, daily 9:00–12:15 · English

Target group: Researchers of all disciplines at the Rhine-Main Universities (JGU Mainz, Goethe University Frankfurt, TU Darmstadt) who work with quantitative data. This workshop is ideal for participants who already use Python, R or Jupyter and want to work in a more structured and reproducible way. Participants with no prior programming knowledge are equally welcome.

Requirements: A computer with internet access. Completing a short preparation before the workshop is mandatory. Registered participants receive detailed instructions in advance.

Outcome: You leave with a ready-to-use structure and working examples as a starting point for organising your own research data. In the exercises you work with carefully chosen example data rather than your own data. They let you understand the principles, which you can then apply to your own research data after the workshop.

Registration Deadline: November, 20th

Number of participants: max. 20

Registration and selection: Your registration is an application for a place in the workshop. Places are allocated in the order in which registrations are received; prior programming experience does not affect selection. You will receive an email from the instructor confirming either your place or your position on the waiting list. If a place becomes available, it is offered to the next person on the waiting list. If you have been given a place but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible at andrejberg@uni-mainz.de, so that someone from the waiting list can take your place.
